Haven Hall Residences provides structured, supportive housing for individuals in recovery. Our homes are built on accountability, stability, and respect.
This is not a passive role. It’s a position of trust.
House Managers are responsible for maintaining a safe, structured environment where Members can focus on rebuilding their lives.
Most days in our homes are calm, structured, and routine-driven. Members are working, attending meetings, and focusing on recovery.
Incidents are infrequent, but when they occur, they matter.
This role is not about constant chaos - it’s about being the person who can step in, stay calm, and lead when something needs to be handled.
Live on-site and serve as a consistent, stable presence in the home
Maintain structure, accountability, and adherence to house rules
Address conflict and de-escalate situations when needed
Respond to emergencies - including behavioral or medical situations
Conduct and document drug/alcohol testing as required
Ensure chores, cleanliness, and property standards are maintained
Track Member payments and communicate issues to leadership
Maintain accurate records (incident reports, logs, communication)
Support a recovery-focused environment (AA/NA encouragement, etc.)
Communicate clearly and consistently with Haven Hall leadership
To perform this role successfully, you must be able to:
Remain alert, responsive, and unimpaired while responsible for the home
Wake and respond appropriately to resident needs or emergencies, including overnight
Move throughout the home quickly, including navigating stairs multiple times per day
Respond promptly and effectively in emergency situations
Maintain clear judgment and decision-making under pressure
Lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 40–50 lbs occasionally
Use any medications as prescribed without impact to your ability to perform the role safely
Minimum 1 year of continuous sobriety (required)
Strong personal accountability and emotional stability
Ability to enforce rules and maintain boundaries
Comfortable handling conflict directly and calmly
Reliable, consistent, and able to follow through
Not easily overwhelmed in high-responsibility situations
Familiarity with recovery environments (preferred)
You already have structure and stability in your life
You can handle responsibility without needing constant oversight
You are comfortable making decisions and standing by them
You want to build leadership experience in a meaningful environment
You are looking for a low-responsibility living situation
You struggle to enforce rules or hold boundaries
You avoid conflict or shut down under pressure
You need a highly predictable, interruption-free environment
You are not able to respond quickly in urgent situations
The home does not allow pets. Service animals and legally recognized accommodations are handled in accordance with applicable laws and must not interfere with the safety or operation of the home.
House Managers must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
The House Manager sets the tone for the entire home.
When this role is done well, Members succeed.
